How to configure Microsoft Word and Excel to run under Interactive User's Account

Problem
If the doc2any user account is not properly configured to automate Microsoft Office applications, the following symptoms may occur:

1. The doc2any.exe hang or doc2any.dll hang.
2. An Office file conversion hangs with "$ASQ" prefix.

Cause
This can be caused by insufficient DCOM permissions. The doc2any user account requires the ability to automate the Microsoft Office applications in order to generate PDF output.

Resolution
Follow the steps below to explicitly set permissions for the doc2any user account, to enable automation of Microsoft Office components.
bullet Click Start, then click Run. Type DCOMCNFG and click OK.
bullet Expand Component Services > Computers > My Computer >DCOM Config.
bullet Select the application that you want to automate. The application names are listed below:

bullet Microsoft Excel 97/2000/2002/2003 - Microsoft Excel

bullet Microsoft Word 97 - Microsoft Word

bullet Microsoft Word 2000/2002/2003 - Microsoft Word
bullet Click Properties to open the property dialog box for this application.
bullet Click the Security tab.
bullet Select Customize under Access Permissions, then choose Edit to display the Access Permissions dialog.
bullet If required, click Add to add the doc2any user account to the access list.

NOTE:  (it is good if you can add EVERYONE user account)

bullet Ensure that the doc2any user account has both local and remote access permissions, then choose OK to close the dialog box.
bullet Click the Identity tab. Select This User and type the username and password for the doc2any user.
bullet Click OK to close the property dialog box and return to the main applications list dialog box.
bullet Click OK to close DCOMCNFG.
bullet Start REGEDIT and then verify that the following keys and string values exist for the Office application that you want to automate. If the keys do not exist, you will need to create them.

bullet Microsoft Excel 97/2000/2002/2003
Key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\EXCEL.EXE
AppID: {00020812-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
