JPG to EPS Vector Converter |
JPG or JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a popular image format that stores image using pixels. JPG is one kind of raster image and it cannot maintain the image quality when the image is magnified. EPS is an industrial printing standard format, which uses control points and paths to reconstruct and display an image. EPS is a vector image format, which can maintain the quality and clarity even when the image is magnified many times. JPG to EPS Vector Converter is a powerful tool for converting raster JPG to vector EPS with calculating out the control points and paths. |
JPG to EPS Vector Converter is free to evaluate and you can download it here. It’s developed for MS-DOS interface, and you can directly run it after unpacking the package into your disk. |
Before running it, you have to open a MS-DOS command prompt window. For easy use, you can change the current directory of the MS-DOS command prompt to the directory where JPG to EPS Vector Converter is saved. |
This is a simple example command for converting JPG to EPS, raster to vector,
>Raster2Vector.exe raster.jpg vector.eps . |
This command line is to convert the raster JPG image “raster.jpg” to vector EPS image “vector.eps”. The following two figures will show the difference between the raster JPG and vector EPS. |
You can see that the curves of the raster image are serrated when the image is magnified in the above figure. |
In the next image, you can see that the vector EPS image can keep the curves smooth and clear even when the image is magnified.
This application is designed mainly for MS-DOS interface, and it has an advantage that it supports being called in a batch script.
