PCL, PS, PDF Page Counter

Use Spool File Page Counter SDK to analyse PDF pages and determine color pages and black and white pages

Hi Guys,

We are evaluating the Spool File Page Counter SDK to analyse PDF files and during our testing we seem to have a page reported as BW when its actually colour.

The page in the PDF clearly has blue lines on it. Other colour pages in the document are correctly reported.

Any help would be appreciated, this appears to be a great solution for us but we do need accuracy as well as performance.

Thanks,

Thanks for your sample PDF file, we checked the blue lines in the page 3 in your PDF file, we noticed the line width for those blue lines are too thin, when we scale the page for color checking, those blue lines were disappear, this is the reason of the problem.

However, this is a minor problem, after you purchase the product, please send to us your Order ID, we will work on this problem and provide a new version of Spool File Page Counter SDK to you, the new version of Spool File Page Counter SDK will work better to you.

I want to keep visible bookmarks table of contents in the left panel of Acrobat Reader when view the PDF file

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I tested your suggestion with the office version Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016, but it was not successful.

doc2any.exe -useoffice 1 -useprinter -showofficeui test.docx test.pdf

Attached you’ll find the source (test.pdf), the result from the doc2any conversion (test.pdf) with your suggested command below and the manual converted version (test-expected.pdf) with the bookmarks in it.

I created the test-expected.pdf manually using MS Word and configured these option,

This leads to the result I wanted from doc2any conversion as well – the always visible bookmarks table of contents in the left panel of Acrobat Reader.

These feature is very important to me, because I want to convert hundreds of large MS Word documents which are heavily used by readers. And without such an always visible ToC its hard to browse content from a e.g. 80 pages PDF.

Please come back to me with a solution for this bookmarks issue.

Thanks for your message, if you want to keep the visible bookmarks table of contents in the PDF file when you open it in Adobe Reader, you shouldn't use the -useprinter option, you may run following command line to convert your DOCX document to PDF file again,

doc2any.exe -useoffice 1 -showofficeui test.docx test.pdf

If you still can't get it work properly, please send to us your sample DOCX document, we will test it and come back to you asap.

DOC to Any Converter

When I convert the same docx files with same doc2any version the table of contents within the PDF is not present

Dear Support Team Member,

my company shortly bought a doc2any server license:

I upgraded our doc2any version to the latest 2 Nov 2017 to get the MS Word docx table of contents into my PDF as bookmarks (2nd panel left side in Acrobat Reader). In a 80 page PDF this is much more convenient to navigate to a specific chapter, than just scrolling through.

https://www.verydoc.com/doc-to-any.html

I use: doc2any.exe test.docx test.pdf

Sometimes I got this PDF bookmarks, sometimes not: why?

On my local machine I got this working using an older MS Office Version (I think it was 2016).

Now I got it updated by my company to MS Office 365 Pro Plus. When I convert the same docx files with same doc2any version the table of contents within the PDF is not present.

On a windows server 2016 with an office professional plus 2016 and the same doc2any version I used locally (2 Nov 2017) no table of contents bookmarks are converted into the PDF also.

What exactly are the pre-requisites for getting within a PDF table of contents bookmarks?

Appreciate your hints.

Best regards

Remark:
Remote Desktop Services (RDS), known as Terminal Services in Windows Server 2008 and earlier, is one of the components of Microsoft Windows that allow a user to take control of a remote computer or virtual machine over a network connection. RDS is Microsoft's implementation of thin client architecture, where Windows software, and the entire desktop of the computer running RDS, are made accessible to any remote client machine that supports Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). User interfaces are displayed from the server onto the client system and input from the client system is transmitted to the server - where software execution takes place. This is in contrast to application streaming systems, like Microsoft App-V, in which computer programs are streamed to the client on-demand and executed on the client machine.
