To embed PDF font for a created PDF document is useful if you want your PDF document to be read or modified on any computer smoothly. To subset PDF font is also a similar work. So when you create a PDF document, you can choose whether embed or subset PDF font with an application which has this kind of function.
VeryDOC PDF Printer has this kind work. You can choose to subset some kinds of fonts into the created PDF document or embed all fonts into the document. The former situation will not create a bigger PDF document but the later one will make the file size bigger.
Please download PDF Printer via clicking here and install it on your computer by following the setup wizard. The printer will be located in Printers and Faxes folder. Please click Start—Printers and Faxes to open the window and then right click the PDFcamp Printer. In the popup floating item, please click Printing Preferences to open the printer parameter setup window and click Font Embedding tab. Please see it in Figure 1.

On the left of the tab, you can see all the fonts that you can embed or subset into the create PDF document. If you want to subset some kinds of fonts, you can click the font with your mouse and click Add button and it will appear in the box on the right. If you want to delete some font, please click it on the right box and click Remove button. When you subset PDF font, the reader will not be able to modify the PDF document except that he have the subset font installed on his computer. But he or she can view the document smoothly.
If you want to embed all fonts into the created PDF document, you just need to click the button All>> and then all the fonts on the left box will be added into the right box. The button All<< is for doing opposite operation. As long as you embed PDF fonts, the reader is able to modify the created PDF even though there is no related fonts installed on his or her computer. Of course, he or she can read PDF smoothly.
You can also check the options Embed all fonts (except base 14 fonts) or Embed base 14 fonts. If you don’t subset or embed PDF font, the created PDF document may not be able to show perfectly. Maybe some characters will be lost. But the file size will be the smallest.
